Senior Tax Manager

This key finance position is responsible for ensuring a high level of control over the income tax provision and income tax compliance processes for all company entities.  The scope of the role includes 4 business entities as well as 4 special purpose entities.  In addition, this position plays an integral role with the financial planning teams to forecast all tax related accounts on the P&L and balance sheet.  This person will be the key tax contact for the US companies for all significant business decisions to ensure that the tax implications of a decision are properly considered.  Finally, this person is responsible for monitoring all tax law changes within the US and ensuring proper planning is in place to adapt to such changes.


–         Manage the outsourcing of federal and state income tax compliance for all Group U.S. companies
–         Manage the income tax accounting functions, including quarterly and year end provisions for all U.S. companies
–         Perform tax research as required
–         Manage tax examinations;
–         Manage tax forecasting for budget process
–         Responsible for SOX testing and documentation for tax processes
–         Manage tax accountant and student intern
–         Manage administrative functions for the tax department, including maintaining all files, audit calendars, archives, and assisting with intercompany tax charges


–         Bachelor Degree in Accounting, CPA +
–         5-7 years corporate tax experience
–         Public accounting experience – corporate tax function
–         FAS 109 experience is required
–         Inbound tax experience is a + (US subsidiary owned by a foreign parent)
–         Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects and communicate effectively with all levels in the organization
–         Strong analytical, written communication and interpersonal skills
–         Management experience – team building, development, coaching

Who we Seek:

We currently seek a Staff Accountant.  The candidate will be responsible for day to day general accounting functions including sales invoicing, accounts receivables, vendor payables and financial analysis as directed.

Responsibilities include:

  • Management of specific client accounts including internal and external communications with clients and internal Account Managers
  • Preparation of client invoices and supporting documentation in connection with client orders and contracts
  • Periodic client account reconciliations and timely collection of outstanding accounts receivables
  • Vendor payables and processing including gathering proper personnel approval, coding and data entry.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of procedures to enhance workflow
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, vendors, internal Account Managers and other employees

Job Requirements

Ideal Candidates will have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred (Accounting Majors preferred)
  • 1-3 years of relative accounting experience
  • Knowledge of Great Plains (this is a plus)
  • Proficiency in Windows/Office/Word/Excel

Senior Accountant – NYC / Southwest Fairfield County, CT

Overall Description:

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for assisting in the daily reporting, review and analysis of our North American proprietary trading operations and Asian brokerage operations. This includes trading profit & loss variance review, cash reconciliation review, fee analysis and recording, review of foreign currency trading activity, preparation and approval of daily intercompany transactions, stock borrow and loan analysis, accounts payable disbursement review. Monthly responsibilities include preparation and analysis of trading profit & loss, recording and reconciling trading dividends, assisting accounting manager with review of cash reconciliations and fixed assets, preparation of intercompany schedules for the Group, processing intercompany accruals for the Group, performing accounts payable review and transfer to general ledger, expense accrual analysis and recording, reconciling and recording compensation and related benefits, and assisting with general monthly closing processes. Additional responsibilities will include processing intercompany paydowns, pre-consolidation balance review, generating reports for monthly financial reporting package, weekly analysis of US securities valuations (variance reporting), ad hoc projects, documenting procedures, and assisting in interim, exchange and year-end audits. Accounting functions are performed in the Group’s headquarters.

Qualified candidates will have in-depth knowledge of:

  • U.S. GAAP Financial Accounting and Reporting
  • P&L and Balance Sheet Accounting and Reporting
  • Financial Statement Analysis
  • Bank Reconciliations, Accounts Payable, Fixed Asset Accounting, Prepaid Expenses and Other Receivables/Payables


  • 3 plus years of experience in a Senior Accounting role
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • Certified Public Accountant (Audit/Assurance), a plus

Other Specific Skills & Knowledge:

  • Proficiency in the operation and use of automated accounting systems. Recent experience with Oracle Financials (ver. 11.5.9), a plus.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word, including complex/compound spreadsheets.
  • Advanced problem solving skills
  • Must be a self-starter and have the ability to work independently within a team environment
  • Knowledge of international financial markets, securities and F/X trading, a plus
  • Experience in intercompany processing and reporting, a plus
