Our client currently seeks:

Our client is currently seeking a Network Systems Administrator to provide support on IT hardware, software, and systems for on-site and remote employees. The ideal candidate must have a good understanding of computers (both hardware and software) and a demonstrated willingness to learn and apply new technology. Superior technical aptitude, strong written and oral communications skills and the ability to deal effectively with people are key success factors for this position. Individual must have proven ability to operate in extreme high pressure situations, handle multiple priorities and possess a high level of discipline while remaining flexible. Top-quality customer service skills in dealing with all levels in a team environment, patience and a sense of humor are important characteristics for this role.

Responsibilities include:

  • Configuration of PC’s for new employees including set up of Active Directory Accounts and Microsoft Exchange email
  • Schedule and implement new user orientation on the operation of PC and navigation to network resources including Outlook Features, Backup, Preventive Maintenance, Patch Updates, Intranet (SharePoint)/Internet access and navigation
  • Creation and modification of images for PCs
  • Quality testing of pre-issue PC’s for connectivity and application functionality
  • Maintain employee PC functionality and stability
  • Maintain inventory assignment history of all IT equipment and generate Excel reports on demand
  • Maintain a repository of user issues and resolutions
  • Maintain hardware inventory
  • Set up network folders and assign required permissions on File servers
  • Set up resources and assign permissions on SharePoint servers
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation
  • Test and rollout new patches and/or version updates
  • Tape back-up monitoring, loading and scheduling
  • Monitor and research network errors while working to resolve issues
  • Service call ticketing for warranty/non-warranty repairs and follow-up status
  • Be available on rotation for emergency IT support after-hours and weekends
  • Field calls to provide support for problems on all applications/hardware configurations and resolve faults quickly related but not limited to:
    • Hardware malfunctions
    • Software errors
    • Network connectivity
    • Passwords
    • Printer Configurations, Errors, Jams
    • Software Installations and Configurations
    • VPN/Remote connection
    • Wireless Configuration and Connectivity
    • Burn and deliver CD media

 Ideal Candidates will have:

  • Bachelors or Associates Degree in Information Technology or related field preferred
  • 7 to 10 years of broad user support experience is required
  • A thorough understanding of the major PC software packages (MS Office, Windows XP)
  • Experience in Windows networking and administration is required
  • Experience with Microsoft Exchange and SharePoint is required
  • Strong networking skills including routing and firewall required
  • Experience creating and deploying PC images
  • MCSE certification is strongly preferred
  • A+ Certification is desirable
  • Strong customer service and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills with demonstrated problem solving ability
  • Possess a strong sense of urgency and commitment to results
  • Previous experience in which high levels of initiative, judgment, and tact has been demonstrated
