Senior Income Tax Accountant  – (Rocky Hill, CT)The Senior Tax Accountant is a tax professional who is responsible for federal, state and international compliance, audits, and provisions.Key Responsibilities:-       –  Prepare, review and timely file federal, state and international tax returns, elections and extensions.
–  Prepare, review and timely file federal, state and international estimated tax payments.
–  Request checks and electronic funds transfers.
–  Research tax issues.
–  Prepare return work papers that are well documented and audit ready.
–  Coordinate and assist with tax audits.
–  Assist with quarterly tax provisions and related work papers and reports.
–  Interact with taxing authorities and resolve return questions and notices.
–  Interact with colleagues from Finance to resolve accounting and tax issues.
–  Assist with special tax projects as necessary.


–  BS / BA in Accounting (CPA and / or Masters in Tax preferred)
–  4-7  years of relevant corporate tax experience (public accounting preferred)
–  Solid understanding of general corporate tax principles and IFRS / GAAP.
–  Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
–  Ability to organize and prioritize a variety of tasks and projects.
–  Strong computer skills (PowerPoint, Excel, Word and Access)
–  Knowledge of SAP and / or Vertex tax preparation software a plus


Senior Tax Accountant – NYC / Stamford, CT / Hartford, CT

Our client is a leading Financial Services firm who has engaged our services to find an experienced tax professional for its Fairfield County headquarters.

The position is primarily responsible for the coordination and review of domestic tax returns and tax provisions for our client’s main business entities, including domestic compliance relating to our client’s international subsidiaries.  The successful candidate will be required to interact with all levels of the organization, including global accounting associates, to satisfy our client’s tax filing requirements.

Other accountabilities include: 

  • Assist with the completion of the group’s U.S. tax compliance requirements for timely preparation of the group’s federal and international tax returns (e.g. Forms 1120, 5471, 8858).
  • Preparation/review of individual company’s legal entity income tax provisions to be included in quarterly and annual GAAP and Statutory financial statements.
  • Assist in the implementation of a new Tax Software program.
  • Provide support in the completion of ongoing tax examinations by the Internal Revenue Service and state tax authorities.
  • Research various domestic, international and state tax issues.

The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • 3 to 6 years of relevant corporate tax experience
  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting
  • CPA Certificate a plus
  • Working knowledge of FAS109 required (knowledge of SSAP 10 a plus)
  • Big 4 Public Accounting or Corporate Tax Department experience
  • Advanced degree in Taxation (MS, MBA) a plus
